Another Hugely Successful Community Animal Care Event!!!

The numbers are in! Over four days, the Canadian Animal Assistance Team helped to spay or neuter 68 dogs and 44 cats for a total of 112 animals from dozens of lower-income families!!! These lucky critters also got health checks, and any vaccinations and parasite control they required. This is a huge boost in keeping our animals, families and community happy and healthy.

THANK YOU to the new friends and familiar faces from the Canadian Animal Assistance Team who took time out of their busy lives and flew from across the country to help us: Chris, Aimee, Chris H., Lisa, Katie, Angela, Kaitlyn, Danielle, Trina, Jackie, Stephanie, Josiane, Rose, Katie B., Amber, Tracy, Stapley, Deb, Michelle, and Kayla. A special shout out to Liz, the “Iron Vet” who first came to us in 2011 and has been on every Lakes District Team!

THANK YOU to our community volunteers who helped care for CAAT and make sure the clinic was a success. Our main organizer, Cheryl, as well as Melissa and Crystal went way beyond the call of duty. Thanks also to Edith, Monika, Taylor, Morgan, Hayley, Heather, Monica, Caiomi, Alice, and Debra.

THANK YOU to all the other clinic donors and supporters: Spirit’s Mission, Paws for Hope Animal Foundation, Tortorella Foundation, Katie Ernst and the Good Haul, Aubrey, Brandy, Burns Lake Veterinary Clinic, Village of Burns Lake, Lake Babine Nation, Ts’il Kaz Koh Nation and the Keyoh Lodge, Subway, the Office, Home Hardware, and the LD News.

THANK YOU to all the families who continue to trust us to help with their critter care needs.

And THANK YOU for continuing to support our programs for spaying and neutering, as well as education about animal care, compassion and bite safety; and our pet food and shelter assistance for low-income families!
