It’s official – Burns Lake has a DOG PARK! Although we had a few delays along the way, the project beat the snow and is already seeing lots of use by happy dogs and their guardians. The gorgeous main sign by local artist Bob Morgan (ManCave Creations) is featured in the top image, along with Bob and our Mayor Delores Funk and her pooch. The park is named MacEwen park in honour of Dr. Bruce MacEwen who was a strong community proponent and helped found the local Rotary. The lower image features the ever amazing Rick Dobbs installing the memorial bench for Rotarian Dick Schritt (the former ballpark at this location was the Dick Shritt Ballpark).
Once again we are so grateful to all the partners and donors: CN who made this space available to the Village, the Village for leasing the property and providing other significant in-kind support, the local Rotary who truly made this park possible, Burns Lake Community Forest, LMR Enterprises, Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, Burns Lake and District Community Foundation, BV Credit Union, P&B Feeds, Woods n Water, Hurry Help Landscaping, Decker Lake Forest Products, Tahtsa Timber, ManCave Creations, Lakes District Maintenance.
If you see the following people on the street please give them a pat on the back – volunteers Rick Dobbs, Lynn Synotte, Nicole Gerow, Heather Anchikoski, Rosemary Edgeworth, Tracey Payne.
